Ten of the Best Cartoons of All Time Number Nine Tee for Two
49
Tee for Two is one of the most popular Tom and Jerry animated shorts directed by the legendary team of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, known best for their collaboration on such franchises as The Flintstones and the Jetsons. Tom and Jerry earned seven Academy Awards and the famous cat and mouse team became two of the first animated characters ever to appear in a live action film, dancing alongside Gene Kelly in the film Anchors Away. Notable in Tee for Two is the heavily stylized illustration style of Jerry in particular. This illustration style seems to be more common in the Tom and Jerry shorts that are heavy on frenetic action and hyper-exaggerated situations. One element most everyone who has ever seen a Tom and Jerry cartoon will recognize is how neither Tom nor Jerry can ever stop running without running backwards to slow down wherever they want to stop.
