Starbucks Espresso Drinks

Espresso only looks complicated
The Espresso Bar is usually where Starbucks customers begin to experience some confusion. It's very easy and straightforward to order a "cup of coffee" because its something most people have done many times in many other places.
All of that changed when Starbucks began putting espresso bars in hundreds of restaurants.
The Starbucks Espresso bar makes two categories of drinks: lattes and basic espresso. A latte, which is arguably one of the most popular Starbucks drinks, is basically cafe au lait with espresso instead of coffee: coffee, steamed milk and foam for decoration. A cappucino is a latte with less milk and more foam. Mocha and Macchiato are chocolate and vanilla flavored lattes respectively. Most of the other specialty drinks at the espresso bar are essentially flavored varieties of these basic drink types, such as Cinnamon Spice Mocha, Toffee Nut Latte and Mocha Valencia.
Espresso is normally ordered by the "shot," which is roughly one ounce. Espresso can also be added to coffee drinks with such colorful names as "red eye" or "depth charge," which is a shot of espresso added to a basic coffee drink. Espresso can also be "converted" to coffee in the form of the "Americano" which is espresso diluted with water until it is equivalent to basic coffee.
